A Maintenance Helper or Assistant assists maintenance mechanics. Repairs and maintains equipment and machines, such as cars or heating systems. May assemble or adjust machines as directed by a head mechanic.

Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of assigned buildings and facilities. This role includes performing routine inspections, repairs, and general upkeep to ensure clean, safe, and operational environment. Tasks may involve plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC maintenance, cemetery maintenance and groundskeeping. The Building Maintenance Worker will follow maintenance schedules, promptly address emergency repairs, and work with contractors as needed to complete specialized repairs. This position requires a proactive, hands-on individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of facility care and safety. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for remote work.
Experience and Training:
Valid Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Ability to pass a background and MVR check with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Ability to pass Rifle
PD NCIC/CCIC
background allowing unescorted access to the facility. Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

This Job:
One year of experience in routine building including basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry experience. This position is full-time, with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, as well as retirement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay. The wage range for this position is $23.67 - $27.27, depending on experience and qualifications. This position closes on Monday, July 27th, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
