Maintenance and Custodial Workers Collective Bargaining Agreement WORKDAYS and HOURS:
Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 40 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS
The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with completion of a vocational-technical school program in a trade area and two years of trades experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A working knowledge of building maintenance and its related systems. A working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Ability to maintain a working knowledge of changes in systems and equipment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Ability to read. Ability to describe orally or in writing repair or maintenance problems is necessary. Ability to provide lead supervision to assigned workers. Must be able to work cooperatively with town department personnel and private contractors.
License or certificate:
Licensed in HVAC (S2 or higher) or electrician (E2 or higher) is preferred, but not required. If not licensed, 10 years of experience in related fields preferred. A Connecticut Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is desirable. A Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required
