ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs custodial duties such as cleaning windows and bathrooms, vacuuming and cleaning carpets, dusting, emptying trash, etc.
  • Loads and unloads equipment, supplies, tools, and materials.
  • Changes light bulbs, replaces tiles, and other light maintenance work.
  • Operates a variety of mowers and other landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Assists in planting, cultivating, and watering flowers, plants, shrubs, trees, annuals, and turf areas.
  • Assists in cutting, pruning, and trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges.
  • Rakes leaves and removes fallen limbs and trash.
  • Edges and mulch bed areas.
  • Weeds flowerbeds.
  • Mows and trims grass.
  • Edges curbs and walkways.
  • Performs routine maintenance on tractors, mowers, and power and hand tools.
  • Assists in the application of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
  • Operates truck, tractor, and loaders in grounds preparation and maintenance work.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; investigate and respond to complaints from the public; resolve issues in the area of assignment.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one (1) year of experience performing related ground maintenance work. Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for one year of the required experience or education. Possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Florida driver's license by the date of hire. Must possess a valid State of Florida driver's license by the date of hire.
