As a Mechanic Helper, you will play a vital role in keeping the companys fleet and equipment running smoothly. This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of vehicles and machinery, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to work alongside experienced mechanics in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Responsibilities Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance, including inspections, vehicle winterization, and ensuring all safety gear, registrations, and manuals are up to date. Perform basic to intermediate mechanical repairs on company trucks, automobiles, and field equipment under the supervision of the Head Mechanic. Accurately log labor and parts used in repairs into tracking software. Help manage parts inventory, maintain essential stock levels, and organize shop supplies for daily operations. Monitor fleet activity using GPS tracking systems and support logistics by serving as a secondary driver for material deliveries and equipment mobilization. Participate in weekly safety meetings and follow all company safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Engage in ongoing training and complete required continuing education hours annually. Qualifications 12 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic or mechanics assistant. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Fully bilingual in Spanish and English is always a plus. Valid drivers license. Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, digital inventory and GPS fleet tracking software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety and ongoing professional development.
