This position is responsible for keeping our tennis facilities, courts, equipment, and surrounding areas clean, safe, well-maintained, and ready for our members each day. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high-quality facilities, and is comfortable operating and maintaining light machinery and hand tools. What You'll Do Prepare tennis facilities for members each morning and afternoon according to daily maintenance checklists. Maintain clay tennis courts by watering, rolling, dragging surfaces, sweeping lines, and addressing low and high spots. Keep tennis court nets, tapes, fences, gates, and wind screens in excellent condition. Clean and maintain court drainage gutters, drains, catch basins, sidewalks, terraces, and surrounding areas. Prevent and remove algae, moss, and weeds around the courts. Maintain court coolers, ice chests, shoe cleaners, and other member amenities. Replenish ice, towels, cups, and other facility supplies. Keep court areas and terraces neat, clean, and organized. Operate rollers, court sweeps, blowers, and other maintenance equipment. Maintain tennis maintenance machines and equipment, including tuning, oil changes, greasing, fueling, and replacing worn or defective parts. Coordinate outside repairs and deliver and pick up equipment from repair facilities as needed. Maintain tennis court lighting, including replacing accessible lights using a ladder when necessary. Track and order facility supplies, equipment, machine parts, and fuel. Keep tennis staff informed of court conditions and maintenance needs. Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis & Pickleball. What We're Looking For High school diploma preferred. At least two years of custodial or maintenance experience, preferably in a club, hotel, resort, recreational center, or similar environment. Experience with tennis court maintenance is a plus. Familiarity with tennis and the basic rules of the game is an asset. Comfortable working with light machinery, hand tools, cleaning products, and maintenance equipment. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high-quality facility. Willingness to work additional hours when needed. Ability to follow safety policies and procedures. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, and squatting. The position requires frequent use of light machinery and hand tools and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds , with reasonable accommodations available when appropriate.
