SERVICE TECHNICIAN PART TIME DEPARTMENT
:PARKS AND RECREATION CLASSIFICATION
:HOURLY, NON-EXEMPT GRADE
: 4 (Starting pay $17.57/hour) The City of Gulf Breeze Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to the provision of superior parks and facilities; diverse leisure opportunities; and attractive thoroughfares that serve to enhance the quality of life of our residents, our neighbors and our guests. Our facilities include 44,000 square foot community center ; a comprehensive athletic complex and tennis facility; disc golf; a skate park; multiple community parks, fishing piers, boardwalks, picnic facilities, public beaches, boat launches, and several natures preserves and trails, encompassing over 500 acres of land.GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Service Technician PT position is in the park's division and maintenance. Work is predominately outdoors and in all weather conditions. The individuals must be able to work well with others as a team and wear company provided personal protective equipment. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Parks Manager or his designee.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists and performs routine maintenance of parks facilities and grounds under direct supervision.
- Assisting crew members in daily maintenance of parks, fields and facilities.
- Ability to dig pits, trenches, and or indentations manually or mechanically.
- Ability to restore and landscape disturbed areas of the job sites.
- Ability to maintain and repair grounds equipment.
- Planting and care of trees, shrubs, sod, etc.
- Move equipment, such as bleachers, to accommodate events.
- Work directly with the public and contractors to resolve issues.
- Communicate well with supervisors, foreman, and co-workers.
- Repairing and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
