POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Storekeeper. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and maintaining materials, supplies, parts, and equipment. Incumbents in this role may also assist with equipment maintenance coordination, inventory control, records management, and warehouse operations in support of Fire Rescue and Aging Services departments. This position starts at $17.69 per hour and is located in Tampa, Florida.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares requisitions for supplies and materials. Maintains inventory of parts and equipment on hand. Records issuance of materials and supplies. Answers telephones and performs general clerical duties. Prepares work orders for equipment repairs. Maintains records and prepares related reports. Inspects deliveries and ensures return of defective or incorrect items. Inspects and disposes of depreciated and obsolete stock according to County standards. Performs minor maintenance or repairs of storeroom materials and equipment. Coordinates delivery and transportation of inventory and supplies to various locations. Operates warehouse equipment including forklifts and box trucks as required. Supports emergency response operations and assists during large-scale events when needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Fire Rescue Specific Duties:

Responsible for safe handling and proper disposal of biohazard materials and narcotics. Receives, warehouses, issues, and delivers DEA controlled substances in accordance with applicable regulations and audit requirements. Coordinates vendor maintenance and repair services for medical equipment, turnout gear, bunker gear, SCBA equipment, and small engine equipment. Collects and transports Fire Rescue equipment for cleaning, maintenance, and repair. Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on lawn mowers, chain saws, K12 saws, stretchers, stair chairs, Lifepaks, AutoPulse boards, and other equipment. Delivers supplies, replacement foam, and equipment to fire stations and emergency scenes as needed. Responsible for purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and delivery of supplies supporting multiple departments.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of storekeeping methods and procedures. Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control procedures. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Ability to conduct inventory and maintain accurate records. Ability to operate computers and related software programs. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others. Ability to follow established procedures and verbal and written instructions. Ability to prepare reports and maintain documentation. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to safely operate forklifts and box trucks. Ability to work overtime, on-call shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate Two (2) years of experience receiving and issuing equipment or supplies; An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License. OSHA Forklift Certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Ability to bend, squat, and move heavy objects safely. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to operate a vehicle to meet business needs.
