Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile Farm Helper/Handyman with a passion for agricultural work and equipment maintenance. In this role, you will support daily farm operations, assist with livestock and crop care, and ensure all machinery and tools are functioning optimally. Your energetic approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to a productive, safe, and well-maintained farm environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop hands-on skills, and be an integral part of a dynamic farming team committed to excellence. Organizational qualities are needed. Duties Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, cleaning, and general care for livestock such as cattle, horses, poultry, or other farm animals. Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently in accordance with safety standards. Perform routine maintenance, repair, and servicing of farm machinery and equipment including power tools, hand tools, and agricultural machinery. Conduct welding or basic metal repairs on farm structures or equipment as needed to ensure safety and functionality. Manage manual handling tasks involving lifting heavy loads of feed, supplies, or equipment while adhering to proper safety protocols. Support crop production activities such as planting, watering (irrigation), harvesting, greenhouse work, or horticulture tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage facilities, and equipment to promote safety standards in production environments. Assist with livestock management including handling animals safely during routine procedures or health checks. Support general farm operations by troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing minor repairs to ensure continuous productivity. Experience Previous experience working on a farm or in agriculture is highly preferred; familiarity with farming practices is essential. Supervising experience is beneficial for coordinating team tasks or overseeing specific projects. Hands-on experience operating farm machinery such as tractors, forklifts (certification preferred), or other heavy equipment is required. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices including livestock handling and animal care is necessary. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, welding, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations), and basic troubleshooting skills are important assets. Outdoor work experience demonstrating comfort working in various weather conditions is essential. Familiarity with irrigation systems, greenhouse management, horticulture techniques, and power tools will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Basic math skills for measurements and record keeping are necessary for accurate task execution.
