Job Summary This position is responsible for maintaining the landscape and grounds of the campus. Full- time position.A complete application must include:

- Removes limbs.
- Applies ice melt.
- Edges walks and street curbs.
- Maintains storm drains.
- Responds to emergency calls for leaks or storm cleanup. Maintains grounds and landscaping - 50%
- Waters plants by irrigation, water trailer, hoses, and watering cans.
- Mows grass.
- Trims weeds.
- Applies chemicals including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers at the appropriate time and rate.
- Mulches, rocks, and spreads pine straw at least 200 cubic yards per year.
- Installs and repairs irrigation systems.
- Removes litter from grounds.
- Prunes trees and shrubs.
- Plants shrubs and flowerbeds.
- Removes trees as needed.
- Seeds grass.
- Cleans up after contracted projects and erosion control. Conducts equipment maintenance - 20%
- Performs oil changes.
- Cleans equipment and changes filters.
- Sharpens blades.
- Conducts grease fittings.
- Cleans up shop and maintains the shed.
- Assists other departments with moving furniture, setting up events, and changing light bulbs and air filters. Performs related duties - 5% Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Other Required Qualifications
- More than one year of related experience required.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and relevant calculations.
- Knowledge of appropriate sprinkler heads for areas, use of heavy equipment for installation projects, and proper assembly procedures.
- Knowledge of chemicals and application procedures.
- Knowledge of plants and growth habits. SKILLS
- Skill in operating specialized mowing equipment.
- Skill in tree pruning and removal and proper equipment needed.
- Skill in basic equipment maintenance and use.
