JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the maintenance of all park facilities.
MAJOR DUTIES
Maintains athletic fields. Maintains Park grounds. Maintains Maintenance Equipment assigned to department. Assists with all programs and events and activities set up and tear down.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Skill in the repair and maintenance of park facilities. Skill in the operation, repair, and maintenance of grounds maintenanceequipment. Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation ofsolutions. Skill in oral and written communication.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Maintenance Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of related maintenance duties. Inclement weather contributes to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to participate in the maintenance of park and recreation facilities. Success in thisposition contributes to a safe, well-maintained, attractive, and efficient environment for area residents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work outside, ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to bend, crouch, walk, lift, at least 40-50 pounds. The work is typically performed outside, in a park, on sports fields, in a gym, or event hall.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
All volunteers for programs, events, and summer camp counselors.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
College Bachelor's Degree in a field equivalent to field management. High school diploma or GED equivalent Valid driver's license At least one year of experience in turf management Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. Possession of orability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipmentoperated. Basic knowledge of sports activities and functions
