Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential to keeping our equipment, facility, and operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance. This is a full-time position with some Saturdays and late afternoons required. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial washers, dryers, ironers, folders, conveyors, and boilers. Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, replacing worn parts, checking belts, seals, bearings, etc.). Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Respond quickly to breakdowns and troubleshoot to minimize downtime. Facility Maintenance Maintain plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and water systems that support operations. Perform general building repairs (doors, flooring, painting, fixtures). Ensure steam, hot water, and compressed air systems are functioning safely. Safety & Compliance Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and OSHA safety procedures. Keep equipment and systems up to code with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain safety guards, emergency shutoffs, and fire suppression systems. Conduct safety inspections and report hazards. Record Keeping & Communication Document maintenance performed, parts replaced, and downtime logs. Work with supervisor to schedule repairs without disrupting workflow. Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies. Communicate recurring problems and suggest improvements or upgrades. Preventive & Predictive Work Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce emergency repairs. Monitor performance trends to detect issues early. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and energy savings. Miscellaneous Duties Assist with installation of new machines and equipment upgrades. Train operators on proper care and early reporting of issues. Provide occasional support for janitorial or grounds keeping duties.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
