Job Description

Under the direction of the Facilities/Resident Manager, provides maintenance and landscaping for the physical premises to ensure a properly functioning, clean and orderly environment for the tenants, clients and staff of all property locations. Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers provides an excellent benefit package consisting of medical, dental, vision, 403b option with matching, and a generous PTO plan. Summary of Essential Job Functions Provides general repairs on buildings as authorized by the Supervisor. With signed authorization to enter a specific unit, provide minor electrical, plumbing and building repairs such as replacing floor tile, painting, minor drywall work as pre-approved on a work order. Renovates unoccupied units as assigned including cleaning, repairing, repainting, smoke detector replacement, strip and waxing floors, checking locks and double-checking unit to ensure quality control upon completion. Performs preventive maintenance on building exteriors including touch up painting, resetting time clocks for exterior lighting, checking for wear and tear on steps and railings. Performs regular maintenance on units including painting, repairing and replacement of window screens and windows, installing screen doors. Trims trees and bushes, mows lawns, repairs to irrigation system. Remove old and install new appliances, pick up and dispose of trash. Perform any other maintenance tasks as needed or directed by Supervisor. Minimum Educational Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License Must have experience in Plumbing, painting, drywall, landscaping and/or miscellaneous repairs Abilities Required To read, write and comprehend the English language. Be able to lift 80 pounds. Basic knowledge of painting, electric repair and plumbing repair. To interact with individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds, withholding judgment and treating all with fairness and respect. To effectively communicate, present information and respond adequately to questions from occupants. To maintain routine records. To perform CPR and first aid. (Certification provided if not already obtained by applicant.) Act at all times with honesty, truth and fairness.
