Job Summary:
The Driver and Maintenance Assistant performs general maintenance duties both for the interior and exterior aspects of the facility as well as safely operates and transports residents to activities and appointments in the facility bus.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Carefully assists residents as needed with entering and exiting the facility bus ensuring their safety at all times. Interacts professionally with healthcare professionals regarding resident's appointments upon arrival as needed. Completes checklists and ensures proper maintenance of van is completed timely and as needed ensuring bus is in efficient operating condition at all times. Ensures bus is clean and well equipped. In collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor, Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the facility; recommends painting, repairs, and furnishings, relocations of equipment and reallocations of space to improve sanitation, appearance, and efficiency. Reports any unsafe condition. Under the direction of Maintenance Supervisor performs identified repair and maintenance schedules for all areas of the facility and grounds. Performs preventative maintenance including the checking of lights, doors, and changing filters. Moves and stores furniture from one location to another without damaging. Stocks supplies in the appropriate location in a timely manner. Enters information and maintains all required logs. Actively participates in QAPI (Quality Assurance Process Improvement) program, taking a proactive approach to quality care and services on a continuous basis with engagement of residents, family members and staff. Available to facility as needed, on call. Demonstrates high standards of excellence for meeting resident needs. Communicates effectively, establishes rapport and maintains relationships with residents. Meets requirement of regular attendance to perform job duties. Has fun in creating a positive atmosphere for residents in conjunction with our Core Values. Follows instructions and completes daily assignments as assigned and is proactive to change. Possesses understanding and compassion for the elderly population. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalency (required). Prior driving experience (strongly preferred) Three years' experience in facilities maintenance (preferred). License/Certification CPR Certification (required - will provide training upon hire) Valid driver's license
