Job Type:

Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (plus required on-call rotation) About the Role Join our team maintaining local wastewater infrastructure. This entry-level position focuses on essential field maintenance, equipment upkeep, and emergency response support. Work Environment:
Don't be afraid of the sewer! While you will be working directly with wastewater infrastructure, mainline cleaning, and pump stations, we provide full training, strict safety protocols, and proper protective equipment to keep you safe, clean, and successful on the job.
Key Responsibilities System Upkeep:
Flush, clean, and TV sewer lines.
Station Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections of pump and metering stations.
Field Repairs:
Assist with underground locates and repair sewer line breaks.
Grounds & Shop:
Maintain District grounds (mowing, weed control) and service tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Meter Reading:
Read meters weekly and at the start of each month.
On-Call Rotation:
Serve on-call during alternating weeknights and weekends for emergency field duties. Must be able to maintain a 15-minute response time to arrive on-site when dispatched for emergency calls.
Qualifications & Pre-Employment Requirements Proximity/Response:
Must live within a distance that allows for a reliable 15-minute emergency response time to the District service area.
Drug Testing:
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with the District's drug and alcohol-free workplace policy. No prior commercial driving or wastewater license required to start. Must possess and maintain a valid regular driver's license. Must obtain a Class B CDL with a tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire . Willingness to achieve progressive licenses outlined in the wage step program.pdf . Must successfully complete a 6-month probationary period.
Compensation & Career Growth Starting Pay:
$24.36 per hour. Step 1
Advancement:
Increases to $25.63 per hour upon securing your Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.
On-Call Premium:
An additional $300.00 per week when on the on-call schedule.
Overtime:
Paid at 1.5x your base rate for hours worked over 40 hours. Benefits Package Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and dependents.
