ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time, grant-funded Maintenance Worker. These positions are covered under the agreement between the College and Service Employees Union Local #116. Applications are valid for one year and will be placed in a pool for review.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time position assigned a 40 hour schedule each week and is contingent upon external funds. The work involves considerable manual labor throughout the work shift as well as the application of a variety of skills. Personnel are required to exercise problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of mechanical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Functional reading and basic math skills as evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED certificate is required. A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required. Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license. Technical school or vocational training strongly preferred. Maintenance workers must be able to satisfactorily perform the assigned duties. Work experience is strongly preferred in three or more of the following areas: Building automation systems controls (Trane/Niagara) Centrifugal Chillers Air Handlers Electrical Low Pressure Boilers Plumbing Carpentry
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
$26.00 per hour
