In person Full Job Description Pickens-Kane is seeking a dependable Custodian / Assistant Maintenance Technician to help maintain our office, warehouse, and general facility areas. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping a workplace clean, safe, organized, and well maintained. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, willing to learn, and comfortable helping with both cleaning duties and basic maintenance tasks in a large warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain office areas, bathrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and warehouse spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, and maintain general cleanliness throughout the facility Keep warehouse walkways, work areas, docks, and common spaces clean and organized Assist with basic building maintenance and repair tasks Help change light bulbs, fixtures, ceiling tiles, filters, and other basic facility items Assist with water leaks, spills, cleanup, and general facility issues Help move supplies, equipment, tools, materials, and maintenance items as needed Assist with painting, patching, minor repairs, and general upkeep Support maintenance staff with larger facility projects Safely use basic hand tools, cleaning equipment, ladders, and facility supplies Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or repair needs to management Follow all company safety procedures and facility rules Assist with occasional overtime or emergency cleanup/maintenance needs when required Preferred Experience Prior custodial, janitorial, warehouse, building maintenance, or facilities experience preferred Basic maintenance or handyman experience is a plus Experience cleaning offices, bathrooms, breakrooms, warehouse areas, or commercial facilities preferred Ability to use cleaning equipment, hand tools, ladders, and basic maintenance supplies safely Comfortable working in an active warehouse environment Strong attendance, reliability, and attention to detail Willingness to learn and take direction Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team Requirements Must be available Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, climb, and perform physical work throughout the day Must be comfortable working in both office and warehouse areas Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks Must be willing to assist with cleaning, maintenance, and general facility needs Overtime may be available based on business needs Compensation and Benefits $20-$25 per hour, based on experience Health insurance once qualified after 90 days Dental insurance once qualified after 90 days 401(k) match once qualified after 90 days Onsite parking included Monday-Friday daytime schedule Possible overtime Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Free parking Paid time off Retirement plan Schedule 8-hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Overtime as needed Work Location In person — Chicago, IL 60654 How to Apply Qualified candidates should submit a resume showing relevant experience in custodial work, janitorial work, warehouse cleaning, basic maintenance, commercial building maintenance, or general facility support.
