POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Worker's main responsibility will be to keep the facilities of Glenview Public Schools in a condition of operating excellence and maintain a working climate conducive to productiveness for the entire school community.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to Maintenance Supervisor/Director of Operations

This position is a district-wide position and travels to locations where needed

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Electrical experience preferred Ability to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and communication skills Ability to be detail oriented and to meet deadlines
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Seasonal jobs, such as cleaning roof drains, gutters, tree maintenance Part of the snow removal team to ensure a safe and efficient clearing of snow and ice from school premises to maintain accessibility and safety for students, staff, and visitors. Weekend and after hours may be required. From plans, schematics and specifications, performs work in his/her specialized trade area related to the construction, renovation and major repair of classrooms, labs, offices, and other structures The performance of these duties uses power tools, both shop and portable. Estimates material requirements, field measures where necessary and provides a detailed bill of materials to the building supervisor for ordering purposes Other duties as assigned by supervisor
OTHER CONSTRUCTION/REPAIR TASKS

): Accurately orders and accounts for material and labor relative to assignments. Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local and Board of Education guidelines Performs general maintenance work inside and outside the physical plant such as ceiling, roof, electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry, glazing, insulation, tile and pump and fan repairs Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase as well as maintains the inventory of district-owned electrician hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies Ability to work from scaffolds and ladders in excavations and tunnels and in extremes of environmental conditions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to lift, pull and carry parts or equipment of up to 75 pounds and to push up to 75 pounds and to climb ladders and maneuver into cramped spaces. Also strong visual skills for monitoring equipment, observing color-coded items, and reading blueprints are required. Must be able to travel between buildings and may be on call in case of emergency situations. Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions as needed.

The performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the District evaluation model.
