Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Equipment Technician under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent oversees the entire equipment fleet and maintenance facility. A maintenance program will be put in place and followed which includes major and minor mechanical repairs, electrical diagnosis, maintenance intervals, record keeping, ordering parts and maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains all pieces of turf management equipment to the highest degree of dependability and performance with the emphasis on quality of cut. Assists with the appropriate scheduling of preventative maintenance, prioritized repairs, reel set up, help with golf course maintenance, and snow removal when needed. Troubleshoots all equipment. Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment. Communicates the purchase of repair parts and replacement supplies. Documents all repairs. Maintains a clean, wellorganized shop with safety of the highest of priorities. Operate equipment in the field to check performance. Assist in maintaining golf cart fleet and beverage cart if needed. Complies with all club policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Assist with daily mowing if needed. Assists with golf course special projects. Interacts with club members and staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary. Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
High school education or equivalent required Minimum of two years of appropriate schooling, training or experience preferred Minimum of two (2) years in a similar position preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principals and mechanics of gasoline engines, diesel engines and electrical diagrams, Must have excellent mechanical understanding and ability to diagnose the appropriate work to be performed. Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools. Ability to work safely in a variety of weather conditions. Demonstrate the ability to be resourceful and innovative. Ability to communicate effectively to supervisors and crew members. Proficient in tracking and recording accurate service and repair costs. Ability to work a flexible work schedule depending on the season. Some holiday and weekends may be required. Ensure the safety, cleanliness and organization of maintenance facility and surrounding area. Ability to execute the essential functions of the position.

While primarily an indoor job, must also be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, sun & heat). Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, occasionally on uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 25lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs. Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel & twist on a frequent basis, sometimes for prolonged periods. Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, fine manipulation and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; overhead reaching occasionally. COMPENSATION
Full time/hourly 40 hours per week with some overtime if required, $34$37 per hour
