About the Position We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and mechanically inclined Operations Assistant to help keep our daily operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and finds satisfaction in keeping things organized, maintained, and operating efficiently. One day, you might be servicing equipment in the shop. The next, you could be delivering materials to a landscaping crew, troubleshooting a machine in the field, or helping a team complete a project. No two days will look exactly the same. As our Operations Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our crews and helping them have the tools, equipment, and materials they need to succeed. You won't simply be completing a checklist. You'll be helping create an environment where our crews can do their best work and our customers receive the quality service they deserve. The goal of this position is simple: Help our team stay prepared, productive, and successful every day. What You'll Be Doing Take Pride in Our Shop & Yard Help create a clean, organized, and safe environment where our crews can start each day prepared for success. You'll maintain our shop and yard, organize tools and supplies, monitor inventory, and make sure essential materials and equipment are ready when needed. Keep Our Equipment & Fleet Running Our crews depend on reliable equipment to do their jobs well. You'll help maintain our mowers, trucks, trailers, and small equipment through preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. You'll coordinate with our foremen to schedule maintenance, arrange outside repairs when necessary, and help minimize equipment downtime. Be the Support Our Crews Can Count On Our field crews work hard to provide excellent service to our customers, and your role will help make their jobs easier. You'll deliver materials and equipment to job sites, assist with equipment breakdowns, coordinate backup machines, and help ensure crews have what they need to keep moving. You'll also work alongside our maintenance and landscaping teams when additional help is needed. Help Keep Our Operations Moving Year-Round Our work changes with the seasons, and you'll play an important role in keeping us prepared. During the winter months, you'll help service and prepare our equipment for the upcoming landscape season while supporting snow and ice management operations. This includes preparing snow equipment, assisting with plowing and salting operations, maintaining equipment between storms, and helping ensure everything is ready for the next snow event. Snow operations require flexibility and availability outside normal working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when weather conditions require service. Communicate, Coordinate & Take Ownership You'll work closely with our owner, management team, and crew foremen to help keep daily operations organized. You'll maintain equipment service records, communicate maintenance and material needs, coordinate deliveries, and help identify potential problems before they affect our crews. Qualifications & Experience We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, practical mechanical abilities, and a willingness to learn. Experience maintaining or repairing lawn care, landscaping, agricultural, or similar equipment is preferred. General mechanical knowledge of small engines, trucks, trailers, and equipment is beneficial. Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment is preferred. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with coworkers. Basic computer skills and willingness to maintain digital equipment and maintenance records. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Willingness to work flexible hours, including participating in winter snow and ice management operations. Previous landscaping experience is beneficial, but we also value candidates with experience in equipment maintenance, construction, agriculture, fleet maintenance, or other hands-on trades.
