Qualifications:

People who tend to do well in this position often have experience that includes things like: Three to five (3-5) years of experience working for a municipality or similar agency and/or construction experience with a private contractor, preferably with water distribution or storm sewer systems , or experience in the operation of related equipment. Requires possession of a valid Illinois CDL Class B vehicle operator s license with air brake and tanker endorsement. Experience with water systems and possession of an IEPA Class D or C Water Operator license, or Operator in Training designation and ability to obtain an IEPA Class D or C Water Operator license within three (3) months. Have led and directed the work of crews. Requires ability and willingness to respond to emergency calls on a 24 hour, 7 day basis and within a 30-45 minute time period. Ability to accept rotating, after hours standby assignments. Experience with the operation of heavy equipment such as backhoes and vactors. Customer service with internal and external customers to get issues solved in a timely and professional manner. Working with a safety-focused mindset. Reliable attendance is essential for success.
