Job Description
The City of Fort Scott is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Street Maintenance worker. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient transportation for residents and visitors. Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, including patching potholes, crack sealing, and resurfacing. Operate and maintain street maintenance equipment such as asphalt rollers, patching machines, and snow removal equipment. Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months to ensure safe road conditions. Clean and maintain storm drains, gutters, and catch basins to prevent flooding and water damage. Assist in the installation and repair of street signs, traffic signals, and pavement markings. Respond to citizen requests and complaints related to street maintenance in a timely and professional manner. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
