JOIN OUR PARKS MAINTENANCE TEAM

•HORTICULTURE & FORESTRY Do you enjoy working outdoors, seeing the results of your work, and contributing to spaces used by the community every day? The City of Leawood is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to help maintain the beauty and functionality of our local parks and green spaces. Previous park maintenance experience is helpful but not required. We are prepared to train someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and commitment to safety.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Perform general grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and well-keptOperate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectivelyAssist with minor repairs or upkeep of outdoor facilities and walkwaysPlant flowers, shrubs, and seasonal vegetationPrune trees, shrubs, and other vegetation to maintain healthy growth and appearanceWeed flower beds, garden areas, and landscaped areasWater plants, lawns, and other vegetation as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid driver's license with a good driving record

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

Experience in parks, landscaping, or grounds maintenanceClass A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and tanker endorsements

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical schedule: Monday

•Friday, 6:30 AM

•3:00 PMEmployees may be required to work evenings and/or weekends during peak periods, emergency operations, and other eventsWork is performed outdoors in all weather conditions This is a physically active, hands-on role with a team that relies on each other every day

PAY & BENEFITS
Starting Rate of Pay:

$22.06

•$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Insurance Benefits:

Coverage begins on the first day of the month following hire

Paid Time Off:
