Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Veterans Affairs Location 926 Veterans Drive Hanson, KY 42413 USA Description The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a self- motivated, energetic Facility Maintenance Worker II to perform general maintenance work in the following: Coordinate the work of employees and assists the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings, ground and equipment. Perform janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas. Perform the duties of employees in maintaining and repairing plumbing, sewerage systems, electrical systems and associated equipment. Make carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment. Upkeep in grounds maintenance (primarily lawn mowing and trimming). Paint and special projects that pertain to the upkeep of buildings. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment. This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $2.88 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Working Conditions Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in

KRS 18A.111.
