Maintenance / Grounds / Equipment Operation Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Airfield Maintenance Associate to help maintain the grounds and operational areas at Blue Grass Airport. This is a full-time, physically active position involving outdoor maintenance, grounds work, minor repairs, and the operation of various maintenance vehicles and equipment. The position works throughout airport property, including runways, taxiways, roads, parking areas, drainage areas, and grounds. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors year-round and performing a variety of maintenance tasks.

Job Duties Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining airport grounds, roads, parking areas, runways, taxiways, fences, gates, drainage areas, and signage.
• Mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, leaf removal, landscaping, litter removal, and general grounds maintenance.
• Performing minor construction, painting, surface repairs, and other general maintenance.
• Painting and maintaining pavement and airfield markings.
• Operating equipment such as mowers, tractors, skid steers, front-end loaders, backhoes, trenchers, sweepers, dump trucks, chainsaws, blowers, and trimmers.
• Performing basic inspections and safety checks on vehicles, tools, and equipment before use.
• Loading, moving, and handling maintenance materials and supplies.
• Keeping vehicles, equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
• Assisting other maintenance employees with projects, emergencies, special events, and other airport needs.
• Completing and documenting assigned maintenance work through the airport's computerized work-order system.
• Participating in snow and ice removal and severe-weather response, including operating snow-removal equipment after completing required training.

Qualifications Candidates must:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be willing and able to learn to safely operate maintenance vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Be comfortable using basic computer/electronic systems for work orders, timekeeping, and communication.
• Be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.
• Be able to perform physically demanding work both indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Physical Requirements This is an active, physical position involving frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and working on uneven terrain. Candidates must also be capable of lifting and handling materials associated with maintenance operations. During winter-weather operations, the position may require lifting and pouring bags of snow and ice removal material weighing up to 80 lbs. Schedule & Weather Requirements Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. While this is a full-time position, airport operations continue around the clock. Snow, ice, severe weather, emergencies, and other operational needs may require employees to work extended hours, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, or holidays. Employees may also be called in outside their normal schedule when needed. Additional Requirements Candidates must be able to:

• Successfully complete the airport's required background and security screening process.
• Maintain required airport security badge access.
• Meet airport drug-screening requirements.
• Possess and maintain the driver's license required to operate assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Complete required airport safety, security, driving, equipment, and operational training.
• Maintain a smartphone and service plan for work-related communication.
• Participate in severe-weather and emergency response when required.
