Job Description
SALARY The minimum salary is $16.503 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 508 This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month or $0.52/hour).

DESCRIPTION
This position maintains service levels and operational standards within the North Base Maintenance District, which is responsible for the care and maintenance of 14 parks and park facilities. Key locations include Bell House, Castlewood Park, Ecton Park, Kenwood Park, and Woodland Park. This position supports daily park operations through skilled maintenance activities such as baseball field preparation, football field lining, playground surface renovation, and fencing repairs (including horse board fencing), and general athletic field and park grounds maintenance. The diversity and intensity of facility use within the district require an experienced staff member capable of working independently and leading small seasonal teams, responding to maintenance issues, and ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming to the public. This position also provides operational and logistical support for special event, community programs, and rentals held throughout the district.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent No experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mows, edges, trims, and maintains lawns and turf areas using various powered and hand tools Plants, prunes, fertilizes, and maintains flowers, shrubs, and trees throughout parks and landscaped areas Removes debris, leaves, and litter from grounds, walkways, and recreational areas Maintains and inspects park infrastructure including benches, fences, trails, signage, and playground equipment Operates and performs routine maintenance on landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and utility vehicles Prepares and maintains athletic fields and courts for games and public use Assists with minor irrigation repairs and maintenance of watering systems Performs snow and ice removal from walkways, trails, and public entrances as needed Reports safety hazards, damage, or maintenance needs to supervisor Sets up for community events and assist with general park logistics Follows all safety rules and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Assists other public works or maintenance divisions as assigned Cleans public park restrooms Collects refuse and litter in parks Performs related work as assigned

All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid driver's license
