He works closely with the Maintenance Manager, Plant Supervisors, and Production Schedulers to coordinate schedules and ensure priorities are met. As work orders are completed, the Maintenance Planner/Parts Coordinator reviews them with the Techs, closes the work orders and creates additional work orders, where needed. The parts Coordinator portion of this role includes overall responsibility for inventory management of parts and supplies for maintenance of all plant machinery and for supplies to support the manufacturing areas. The organization and orderliness of the Parts Room are also part of this job. This position has a significant impact on machine uptime, internal customer satisfaction, and ultimately, external customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have prior maintenance experience, including managing a CMMS work order schedule and a maintenance parts room. The candidate will have experience working with vendors and contractors. Strong computer skills are a must. Maintenance Planner & Parts Coordinator Responsibilities 1. Plan maintenance schedules for 3-shift operation. Create work orders, publish schedule weekly and follow up with techs on work performed and time requirements. 2. Develop job material lists and provide kitting, issuing and return of parts for maintenance work orders scheduled. 3. Work with the maintenance manager and maintenance engineer to create and update PMs. 4. Generate purchase orders for parts and/or services to support the maintenance area and production supplies. 5. Install and maintain Kanban systems, where appropriate, to manage inventory and trigger purchase orders. 6. Assist the Maintenance manager with Lock-out/Tag-out audits and participate on the Safety Committee. 7. Assist the Maintenance Manager and/or Engineering to troubleshoot equipment issues and determine parts needed to complete repair. 8. Create and run reports in the CMMS as requested by management and assist Maintenance Manager in analyzing data to understand root cause of unplanned maintenance downtime. 9. Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority. 10. Recommend improvements and participate in improvement activities. Maintenance Planner & Parts Coordinator Requirements 1. 5-7 years of relevant work experience in a maintenance role; Associate degree in a technical field preferred. 2. Maintenance planning, scheduling and procurement experience a must. 3. Basic understanding of machine and facility maintenance; working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. 4. Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and prior experience with a CMMS. 5. Ability to read prints and schematics preferred. 6. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis 7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 8. Excellent organization and follow-through skills. 9. Attentive to details, organized, works well under pressure, and meets deadlines. 10. Collaborative and constructive relationship with maintenance team, operations team and vendors. 11. Self-starter who is comfortable communicating with both the maintenance techs and the maintenance manager. 12. Team-player who will work to solve problems at all levels 1st Shift
