High School graduate or equivalent. 2. Minimum of two years' experience in custodial, building, or grounds maintenance; institutional experience preferred. 3. JOB GOAL
Support the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of District facilities and grounds by performing maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, and related services. Assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds in maintaining the physical plant and responding to the day-to-day needs of the District.
REPORTS TO
Directly reports to Director of Buildings and Grounds.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Maintain school buildings, grounds, furnishings, equipment, and related facilities in a safe, clean, efficient, and serviceable condition to support their full and productive use. 2. Perform assigned work orders, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations involving building systems and grounds, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry, masonry, and related areas. 3. Operate and maintain custodial, maintenance, grounds, and mechanical equipment, tools, and supplies in a safe, effective, and appropriate manner. 4. Promptly report unsafe conditions, needed repairs, equipment or service breakdowns, and other conditions requiring attention to the Director of Buildings and Grounds or designee. 5. Assist with the care, maintenance, organization, and inventory of maintenance and custodial supplies, materials, and equipment, while helping to prevent unnecessary waste of utilities and supplies. 6. Promote the safety, health, cleanliness, and comfort of students and employees and maintain a high standard of safety and efficiency in all maintenance and repair activities. 7. Move equipment, materials, and furnishings within school facilities as needed. 8. Operate and transport the school vehicle fleet, including the ability to safely operate vehicles while towing trailers as needed. 9. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff, administrators, and other members of the school community. 10. Maintain appropriate records and reports and complete work-order documentation as requested by the Director of Buildings and Grounds. 11. Respond to emergency situations and work additional hours when necessary to address emergencies or prevent disruption to school operations. 12. Act as a substitute custodian when necessary. 13. Follow all District policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and applicable guidelines, and maintain familiarity with current maintenance practices, equipment, products, and techniques. 14. Respond appropriately to changing needs and priorities and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or District administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS 1.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, turn, reach, climb, and balance as required. 2. Ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects and materials, including consistently lifting and moving loads of up to 50 pounds. 3. Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round, including in noisy or crowded environments and around dust, fumes, and odors. 4. Ability to work at elevated heights and operate mechanical vehicles and equipment as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month (fiscal year) hourly employee, appointed on an annual basis and renewable at the discretion of the Franklin County Technical School District. Hourly rate and benefits shall be established in accordance with Franklin County Technical School Committee policy and applicable District policies or agreements.
EVALUATION
Job performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Building & Groundsce.
