Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Staff member to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks to create a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and clients. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the facility Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal floor care and surface maintenance Handle chemical agents safely in accordance with chemical handling safety procedures for cleaning and sanitation tasks Conduct light repairs and basic maintenance on fixtures, doors, windows, and plumbing systems as needed Assist with industrial cleaning projects and custodial responsibilities in commercial or residential settings Follow safety protocol adherence during all manual handling activities, heavy lifting, and equipment operation to prevent injuries Support overall facilities maintenance efforts by coordinating with vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or services Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential environments is preferred Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning equipment safely and effectively Experience with chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs and light construction work such as painting or drywall touch-ups Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff and visitors Knowledge of safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury during heavy lifting tasks Previous porter experience or background in industrial cleaning is advantageous Join our team to help maintain a pristine environment that promotes safety, comfort, and efficiency.
