Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and minor maintenance tasks to support a clean and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to adhering to safety protocols while delivering exceptional facility care. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or exposure. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and facilities upkeep to ensure operational efficiency. Operate cleaning equipment effectively, including vacuums, floor buffers, and scrubbers, maintaining their proper function through regular care. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment without injury. Maintain sanitation standards by properly disposing of waste and ensuring all areas meet health and safety regulations. Support industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks as needed to uphold facility appearance and safety standards. Qualifications Proven custodial experience or janitorial background with familiarity in commercial or industrial cleaning environments. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the safe handling of chemical agents. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices. Strong attention to safety protocol adherence and understanding of safety procedures related to facilities maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with staff or visitors.
