We are looking for a Facility Care & Maintenance Assistant to help care for our self-storage facilities in Portland, South Portland, and Scarborough. This is a hands-on position with a primary focus on cleaning and facility upkeep. You'll clean recently vacated storage units, maintain interior hallways and floors, remove dust and debris, and help keep our properties looking their best for our customers. But we're looking for someone who can grow beyond cleaning. You'll also have opportunities to work alongside our maintenance personnel, assist with projects and repairs, learn new skills, and potentially advance into a Maintenance Technician position as your abilities develop. What You'll Do Clean recently vacated storage units and prepare them for new customers. Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain interior floors, hallways, and common areas. Clean dust, dirt, cobwebs, and debris from unit doors and facility surfaces. Maintain clean offices, restrooms, entry areas, and other assigned spaces. Identify and report maintenance or repair needs. Assist maintenance personnel with repairs, preventative maintenance, and property improvement projects. Help organize and move tools, equipment, supplies, and materials. Learn basic maintenance skills, tools, and repair techniques. Travel between our Portland, South Portland, and Scarborough facilities as needed using a company-provided vehicle . Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Are dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Take pride in doing a job thoroughly and correctly. Don't mind cleaning and performing physical, hands-on work. Notice details and problems that others may overlook. Are mechanically inclined or interested in learning maintenance and repair skills. Are comfortable learning to use basic hand and power tools. Have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, maintenance, construction, landscaping, property management, or another hands-on field is helpful, but not required . Salary:
