Job Description

Peninsula Powder Coating seeks a full-time Maintenance Worker to join their team in Baraga, Michigan . The ideal person for this position is someone experienced with general maintenance (carpentry, welding, electrical and/or mechanical maintenance) and able to maintain equipment, buildings and grounds.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Inspect, repair and maintain facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical repair (replace outlets, ballasts, fans, etc.), heating and cooling systems, grass cutting and trimming, snow removal, and minor construction jobs (cement work, general carpentry, general welding, etc.). Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials. Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance duties as scheduled. Maintain effective and professional communication with staff.
WHAT WE OFFER.
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour starting pay based on your experience. Company provides a monthly stipend to put towards health insurance, if needed. Supplemental insurance and life insurance. 401(k) retirement plan with 3% company matching contribution. Paid time off (vacation, sick time) and paid holidays.
SCHEDULE.
This is full-time, Monday-Friday position generally working 7am - 3:30pm. Some schedule flexibility required for emergency situations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
Preference given to candidates with at least 3 years' maintenance work experience, including skills in general carpentry and painting, as well as basic welding, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. HVAC experience is a strong plus. Valid driver's license required. Must have own tools (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.). Ideal candidates are highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once, and operate with urgency and attention to detail. We're looking for someone proactive, safety-conscious, and resourceful when tackling maintenance challenges. This position involves physical labor, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, working on ladders, navigating dusty or confined spaces, and performing tasks in a variety of outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, snow, etc.).
