Job Description

Facilities Caretaker & Delivery (Day Shift)

Shift

40 hours/week. Monday-Friday. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Year-round. Occasional overtime and adjusted shifts as needed.

General Responsibilities

Enhance the overall experience of students, staff, parents, and visitors in our district buildings

Support of day-to-day activities, staff, events, and general maintenance within assigned building(s)

Complete daily cleaning and support tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Facility Services

Event support and set-up/tear-down

Responsible for receiving and delivering mail, packages, shipments, etc. to and from district buildings (approximately 2 hours/day)

Communicate regularly with building staff, Building Lead, and Assistant Director of Facility Services on daily needs and long-term planning.

Ability to build strong working relationships with co-workers and staff

Respond in a courteous and helpful manner to all members of the community, treating them as our customers

Problem solving through the day to best support school activities.

Work as part of the summer crew, with a focus on project cleaning, furniture moving, and wide project support across the district

Support the overall goals of the district, Facility Services Team, and Operations Department

Additional duties as directed by the Building Lead or Assistant Director of Facility Services

Skills

Ability to contribute to a working environment where people thrive, and to maintain spaces that provide a positive experience for the user

Organization (sorting, tracking, and delivery) of a large number packages

Prioritization of two different work assignments in coordination with various team members

Able to drive, load, and unload district vehicle Proven abilities in the maintenance of large buildings This position requires the operation of basic cleaning equipment including backpack vacuums and floor scrubbing machines. Enthusiasm to complete assigned daily tasks while being flexible to adjust to changing needs of the building

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, physically complete all tasks assigned, and move around the building throughout the assigned shift.

Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD).
