$35,000 -45,000 per year About Youth Opportunity & River Oak Youth Academy Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at‑risk youth. River Oak Youth Center in Evart, Michigan serves girls ages 12 to 17 in a trauma‑informed residential environment focused on mental health stabilization and growth. The center offers therapy, expressive arts, social skills training, educational instruction, and peer support. Youth typically remain 6 to 9 months , participating in individual, family, and group therapy; life skills building; victim‑impact awareness; restorative justice; and pre‑vocational readiness. Small group living units enable a safe setting for healing and preparation for successful reintegration into the community. Position Summary - Facility Maintenance Worker Job in Evart, MI We are hiring a Facility Maintenance Worker to support the daily operations of River Oak Youth Academy. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in building and grounds maintenance who want to make a meaningful impact in a residential treatment environment. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient facility to ensure a supportive setting for youth and staff. Be part of a team making a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth Ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for youth and staff Work in a secure, structured, and mission-driven organization Develop your skills through training, mentorship, and advancement opportunities Facility Maintenance Worker Responsibilities Manage building services including maintenance, groundskeeping, parking areas, and facility safety Conduct regular building inspections and take proactive steps to ensure a safe, efficient, and presentable environment Oversee safety and security measures, including fire, burglary, and facility closures Monitor and maintain close circuit security systems and access card operations Support program managers by identifying and coordinating maintenance projects and repairs Track and maintain facility fire and health inspections and ensure timely resolution of deficiencies Direct contractor activities related to facility maintenance, equipment, and grounds Other Duties Include Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth Participate in training and development activities as required Report any acts, incidents, or conditions reflecting inappropriate behavior Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines Perform other duties as assigned or needed Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to pass background check and drug screen Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment Preferred Experience 3+ years' experience in facility maintenance or related roles Prior project management experience strongly preferred
Other Requirements Physical Demands:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds. Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. Ability to drive for extended periods.
