Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Worker plays a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of the school campus. This position is responsible for supporting daily building operations, managing event set up and tear down, and assisting with exterior maintenance, such as snow removal, and maintaining interior courtyards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, a willingness to learn new skills, and a proactive approach to caring for our school environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
HVAC & Building Systems:
Change filters Maintain accurate logs of work performed
Grounds & Artificial Turf Management:
Serve as the lead for setup and takedown for school events and activities. Maintain outdoor areas including athletic fields, courtyards and parking lots. Perform minor groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, and weed control on small interior courtyards.
Assist with snow removal duties:
utilizing tools such as snow plows, tractors, blowers, and shovels Perform artificial turf field maintenance: net repair, clean dugouts/benches, and field setup.
Preventative Maintenance & Safety:
Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and systems. Conduct daily facility inspections to address issues proactively. Ensure compliance with all safety codes and school policies.
Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with the Director of Operations to manage daily priorities and tasks. Communicate respectfully and positively with faculty, staff, and administration regarding maintenance tasks and needs. Respond to emergencies and maintenance requests as required, including occasional off-hours.

Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
No prior professional facilities or maintenance experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. Demonstration of a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a reliable attitude are required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability. Ability to use email, internet search engines, and a computer based work order system (training provided). Ability to work in a busy school environment. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, functional environment. Ability to operate power tools, lawn care equipment, and other machinery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 80+ pounds. Able to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces or in inclement weather. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors across a large 50 acre campus.
Schedule:
Regular hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Flexibility required for seasonal changes, after-hours emergencies, or weekend events.
