Job Description

The Maintenance - Student Employee will have the responsibility of assisting with the daily operations of the Facilities Department. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines. Use of hand tools such as: shovels, rakes, brooms, hand trimmers, etc.
Operation of equipment such as:
push mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, snow blower, etc.
Maintain College grounds by:
mowing, trimming, raking, cleaning, weeding, snow shoveling, hauling/moving equipment Maintain/Clean maintenance equipment: vehicles, tractors, riding mowers, golf carts, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures and compliance guidelines. Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations . Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, Licensure:
High School Diploma. Valid Driver License. Must be enrolled as a student at Mid Michigan College.
Experience:
Job function experience helpful
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written format, with various constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, and community members. Ability to operate small machinery and equipment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
