Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Worker/Carpenter to join our facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving building infrastructure and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment, hands-on craftsmanship and technical proficiency, supporting the overall operation and aesthetic of our organization. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) tasks across various properties Execute carpentry projects including maintenance painting, building interior repairs, framing, cabinetry work, and other woodworking tasks. Utilize hand tools and power tools skillfully for repairs, installations, and upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Support facilities maintenance by inspecting building infrastructure regularly and addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members to lead small projects or assist in larger maintenance initiatives while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in plumbing system maintenance and repair. Knowledge of residential painting techniques as well as maintenance painting for commercial or industrial environments. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; familiarity with power tools is a plus. Experience working with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) supplies and understanding of building interior maintenance procedures. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork. Leadership qualities with the ability to guide junior staff or coordinate small teams during maintenance projects.
