Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Technician to join our shopping center operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of the property's buildings, grounds, parking areas, and common spaces. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, and facility operations, with the ability to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks while providing excellent service to tenants and visitors. Responsibilities Building Maintenance Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the shopping center. Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and mechanical repairs. Replace lighting fixtures, bulbs, and ballasts as needed. Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and common areas. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. Assist with preventive maintenance programs and work order completion Groundskeeping & Exterior Maintenance Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and common areas. Remove litter, debris, and trash from the property. Assist with landscaping activities, including watering, trimming, pruning, and seasonal plant maintenance. Monitor and maintain outdoor furniture, signage, and property fixtures. Assist with snow removal, ice treatment, or storm cleanup as applicable. Pressure wash sidewalks, entrances, and other exterior surfaces as needed. Property Inspections Conduct routine inspections of the property and identify maintenance or safety concerns. Report equipment failures, hazards, vandalism, and property damage. Assist in maintaining a safe and attractive environment for tenants and shoppers. Vendor & Contractor Support Assist contractors and vendors performing work on-site. Monitor vendor activities and report issues to management. Support capital improvement and maintenance projects as assigned. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Properly use maintenance equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain compliance with OSHA and property safety standards. Immediately report safety hazards and emergency situations. Team Support Assist housekeeping, operations, and security teams when needed. Support special events, seasonal activities, and property projects. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping, landscaping, construction, or related experience. Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently. Good communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience in commercial property, shopping center, retail, hospitality, or facility maintenance. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems. Experience operating landscaping or grounds maintenance equipment. OSHA or safety-related training. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to use ladders and access rooftops and mechanical areas safely. Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies when needed.
