Job Description

Position Summary:
The Part-Time Maintenance Worker will perform routine maintenance, repair, and other tasks to support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of public buildings, grounds, and infrastructure managed by the Department of Public Service (DPS). This position serves in a support role to full-time DPS workers, assisting with daily operations, and special projects to help ensure effective service delivery to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist full-time DPS staff with general maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Assist with cold patching of roadways and pothole repair.
  • Help with cleaning and clearing storm drains and other stormwater infrastructure.
  • Support irrigation system maintenance, including seasonal start-up and shutdown.
  • Participate in sign installation, maintenance, and minor repair work.
  • Perform routine upkeep of public spaces, parks, sidewalks, and city facilities.
  • Conduct outdoor maintenance such as leaf collection.
  • Help with setup and cleanup for community events or facility uses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, construction, or public works preferred.
Additional Information:
  • This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
  • Flexible schedule, up to 24 hours a week.
