MAINTENANCE WORKER

Rockford Township Hall Rockford Township is seeking a reliable, motivated individual to fill a full-time Maintenance Worker position. This role performs vital community infrastructure support under various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Road maintenance and infrastructure repairs; drainage management and clearway upkeep; winter operations including snow plowing and ice control; safe operation, upkeep, and mechanical maintenance of township equipment; and strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and any other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record and a current DOT medical card. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The Township is unable to provide or assume sponsorship for an employment-based visa or other work authorization for this position. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Capability to work outdoors safely in extreme weather conditions. Previous relevant mechanical or municipal experience preferred.

Screening Requirements:

Successful candidates must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screening and are required to pass ongoing random drug and alcohol tests in compliance with federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Wage is dependent on qualifications (DOQ). Package includes comprehensive health insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off (PTO). A uniform allowance and necessary safety equipment are fully provided by the township.
