Description:
Modern Montessori Charter School is seeking a part-time General Maintenance & Custodial Worker "Handyperson" for the 2026-27 school year and beyond. This person is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and general upkeep of the building and grounds to ensure a safe environment for students, staff and visitors. This includes such tasks as cleaning, restroom maintenance, waste management, floor care, supply management, performing minor repairs, following safety protocols, and ensuring the general security of the facilities. The Facilities Repair & Care Technician effectively uses observations and data regularly to assess building needs then make and communicate plans to meet those needs accordingly in conjunction with school administration. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, a self-starter, able to work independently, has the ability to recognize issues, repairs and needs, has the ability to follow detailed instructions, is highly motivated, adaptable, and organized, and is able to communicate positively and effectively. This position has flexible hours, thus making it ideal for someone working around other commitments/schedules.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Ability to follow oral or written work orders and to coordinate work with the Operations Manager, Executive Director and other staff members Ability to describe orally or in writing, cleaning, maintenance or repair problems accurately Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measurement Ability to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow Ability to to work above ground from ladders, etc. Ability to lift 50+ pounds Knows how to appropriately store and handle chemicals Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
