Job Description

Under direction of Rec Center Manager and/or full-time maintenance employees, provide customer service, custodial, equipment, facility, and grounds maintenance services, in a manner, which ensures efficient operations and provides a safe atmosphere for Rec Center, ROC and Aquatic Park visitors. Assist permanent maintenance staff with facility operations during assigned shift, providing customer service assistance and maintaining a safe and clean welcoming friendly environment. Provide building custodial maintenance services including but not limited to: cleaning restrooms and locker rooms, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, window washing, trash pick-up and removal, washing walls. Ability to learn and operate Zambonis and ice maintenance equipment. Provide pool maintenance services including but not limited to: pressure spraying pool and concession deck, vacuuming pool, cleaning equipment, weeding planting areas, raking sand play area, picking up trash on pool deck and picnic area. Provide grounds maintenance services including but not limited to: lawn mowing and trimming, trash pick-up, weed pulling, concrete area cleaning. Set up meeting and banquet rooms as per schedule. Resurface and edge ice sheets as per schedule. Provide skate sharpening and skate rental service as required. Assist crowd control during facility events. May monitor building and pool mechanical equipment as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. Availability to work varied schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be at least of 18 years of age. Previous experience working in a public setting. Previous ice resurfacer operation experience. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and the public. Previous light maintenance and/or custodial maintenance experience.
