- This job announcement will be used to fill multiple vacancies with Metro Bridge Maintenance at the following locations: Mendota Heights, Plymouth, and Spring Lake Park.
Job Duties:
- Examples of work include, but are not limited to:
- Function
Bridge Maintenance:
- + Performs and maintains necessary repairs and installations in steel fabrication and erection of bridges and structures so that structural integrity is maintained at the lowest safety risk and inconvenience to the public.
- Function
Snow & Ice:
- + Maintains roadways for snow and ice control. + Removes snow from roadways and shoulders. + Opens and widens roadways of large accumulations of snow. + Removes snow from rights of way or yards. + Applies anti-icing and de-icing chemicals on stretches of highway under slippery conditions. + Removes ice and material from culverts.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Includes years of experience, education, and training required at the time of application to be considered eligible for the vacancy.
- AND a Class A CDL Permit with no airbrake restriction AND a tanker endorsement.
- How to Get a CDL Permit
- Study the CDL Manual at: https//m.driving-tests.org/minnesota/mn-cdl-handbook / then contact your local Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Service (DVS) to schedule an appointment to take the exams.
- A two-year technical trades training or degree (e.g., carpentry, concrete/masonry, etc.) or equivalent may be substituted for one year of experience. (In order for education coursework to be considered in lieu of work experience, you must submit a copy of your transcript).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL with no airbrake restriction and a tanker endorsement.
- Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work nights; may be required to work outside exposed to the weather elements (both hot and cold) on an intermittent basis.
