Position Overview:
Performs routine building and grounds maintenance activities for the City of Fulton. This is a full-time position. Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Work is primarily outdoors and requires the ability to perform duties in hot weather conditions.
Essential Duties:
Mow grass and maintain lawns and landscaped areas throughout City properties Operates weed-eaters and edging equipment along sidewalks, fences, and buildings Performs general grounds maintenance, including trimming, debris removal, and litter pickup Assists with basic maintenance and repair tasks as assigned Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment Maintains equipment and reports maintenance needs as necessary Utilizes appropriate safety equipment and procedures Assists with other building and grounds duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience, Education, and Training This is an entry-level position Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, mowing, or general labor is preferred but not required Requirements Must be able to work outdoors in heat and varying weather conditions Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check Some assignments may require the incumbent to possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License Must be able to follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate safety equipment Subject to working occasional adjusted hours as needed Abilities Operate mowing equipment, weed-eaters, trimmers, and other hand and power tools Utilize appropriate safety equipment and follow safety procedures and precautions when carrying out essential functions Follow oral and written instructions Communicate effectively verbally Deal effectively and courteously with associates and the general public Effectively welcome and embrace differences among employees and citizens Perform effectively as a member of a team in carrying out the City's stated mission and philosophy Present an overall professional image Perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others Applicant Tracking Software by
