Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, safe at all times. Ensure that all facilities and grounds are well-maintained. Performs all grounds keeping work of the district's buildings and occasionally all athletic fields. Regulates heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. Shovels, plows, and ice melts walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate. Completes work orders in an efficient and timely manner. Completes preventative maintenance within the month that it is due. Ensure all grounds equipment is maintained and working efficiently. Ensure all grounds, tools, HVAC and related building equipment are maintained properly and in good working order. Attend classes and seminars, when appropriate. Report any safety concerns to the Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Operations, and Building Administrators.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Dependable and Self Motivated Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Ability to operate maintenance equipment. Able to be on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to stoop, bend over, and climb ladders. Must be able to work overhead. Demonstrate good judgment of using body protection as needed on different tasks assigned. Must be able to work in all climate weather. Must be able to read labels, instructions and other work related materials. HVAC Universal License preferred.
