On farms, in aviaries (large enclosures for confining chickens), install aviary systems and components including feed management, manure handling, and egg collection systems. Workers will use hand and power tools such as drills, hammers, and pliers to complete tasks including attaching chicken waterers, installing bird ramps and cage doors, mounting ventilation units, and positioning feed troughs. Workers will position and secure fans and inlets into structural openings, using appropriate tools and equipment. Installation involves lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and stooping. Workers will also operate forklifts and scissor lifts as needed to safely move and install materials at height.
