Utilizing our venues in the heart of the City, and partnering with Visit KC as a strategic ally in efforts to enhance Kansas City as a key destination, we leverage assets and personnel to establish industry partnerships while attracting visitors to hotels, restaurants, event venues, and leisure travel to our City. Responsibilities What You'll Do:
Sets up auditoriums, meeting rooms, conference spaces, banquet facilities, exhibit halls, performing arts venues, and arena facilities for scheduled events. Arranges tables, chairs, staging, equipment, and furnishings according to event specifications and work orders. Cleans and maintains event facilities, sidewalks, public entrances, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and professional appearance. Completes work orders involving repetitive bending, heavy lifting, extensive walking, kneeling, and other physically demanding activities. Moves, transports, and positions equipment, materials, and furnishings required for event setup and breakdown. Assists with the preparation, conversion, and restoration of facilities before, during, and after events. Inspects event spaces and public areas to identify and address cleanliness, safety, and operational concerns. Conveys moderately technical instructions and work assignments to unskilled and semi-skilled temporary workers. Assists in directing and coordinating temporary workers to ensure work is completed efficiently and in accordance with event requirements. Follows supervisor instructions and established procedures to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition. Performs related duties as assigned to support facility operations and event management activities. REQUIRES 6
months of experience in custodial or related maintenance work or general laboring work. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
