Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive:

Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services,such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P) Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program

When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 4/1/2027. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Transportation needs of this position require use of a state vehicle and adhering to the Department's Vehicle Policy. You must have and maintain a valid driver's license for this position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Must have certification to operate motorized boats or personal watercrafts at time of appointment.
