Job Description
Lighthouse Christian Home is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Part-Time Maintenance Person to help keep our homes, farm, vehicles, and property in excellent condition. This is a flexible position with hours that can work around your schedule. This position is responsible for routine maintenance, automotive maintenance, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and grounds upkeep while demonstrating a caring, respectful, and Christ-centered attitude. Schedule
- Part-time (approximately 10-15 hours per week) maybe more.
- Flexible schedule with occasional availability for emergency maintenance needs Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and furnishings.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to vehicles including oil changes, seasonal tire changeovers, and overall maintenance.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs within skill level.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and address maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation systems or coordinate service when necessary.
- Ensure the facility, walkways, parking areas, and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Perform seasonal duties such as snow removal, ice control, mowing, trimming, and landscaping.
- Set up and move furniture or equipment for resident activities and special events.
- Monitor maintenance supplies and notify management when replacements are needed.
- Work with outside contractors as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching.
