Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our hotel properties through hands-on repairs, landscaping, and groundskeeping. Your proactive approach will ensure our facilities remain inviting and well-maintained for guests and staff alike. Duties Drywall Repair from water leaks in ceilings and/or walls Knowledge of how to apply knock down, orange peel and taping Knowledge of Onity Door Locks a plus Basic Knowledge of Fire Codes, fire alarm system, smoke detectors, heat detectors and pull staions. Knowledge of PTAC Units, how they operate and function. How to properly clean and maintain the window units. The units heat and cool the motel rooms and public areas. Toilets - unclogging, pulling the toilet and replacing wax seal, replacing tank seal, flapper, toilet handle and tightening loose toilet seats. Trouble shoot plumbing issues. Doors - replacing hydraulic door closures, replacing spring hinges, tightening loose door strickes, replacing broken dead bolts, updating door locks and keeping door handles functioning properly Perform routine inspections and maintenance of outdoor areas, including landscaping, lawn care, mowing, tree trimming, and gardening to enhance curb appeal. Operate grounds maintenance equipment to keep outdoor spaces safe and attractive year-round Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and managing irrigation components to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for repairs involving hardscape features, fencing, or other outdoor structures. Identify plants accurately through plant identification skills and apply appropriate horticultural practices; manage pesticide application following safety protocols. Assist with snow removal during winter months by operating shovels to ensure safe walkways and driveways. Follow all safety protocols diligently while performing outdoor work to prevent accidents or injuries.

Qualifications Proven experience in outdoor work environments with knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping techniques. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various equipment including lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems, replacing broken sprinkler heads when broken. Being sure the system is operating properly and keeping the grass green. Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices such as mowing, pruning, planting, and hardscape upkeep Experience in pesticide management adhering to safety standards; familiarity with pest control in relation to motel environment Contact contractors to secure bids on projects. Replace outlets including GFIC. Know enough about electrical codes and what can be done safely and what projects require an electrician. Trouble shoot electrical issues.

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
