Expected Hiring Range:

$41 142.40 - $ 45,256.64 - Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications. A starting salary above the range listed may be considered for highly qualified individuals not to exceed the maximum of the grade.

Equipment Operation & Infrastructure Maintenance:

Versatile Equipment Operation :

Skilled in operating a variety of motorized equipment, including backhoes, leaf trucks, and vacuums to maintain city infrastructure and support community needs.

Manual Labor & Landscaping :

Performs a range of manual labor tasks such as digging graves, turf care, landscaping, mulching, mowing, and pruning to keep city facilities pristine.

Supply Management & Cleanup :

Loads, unloads, and hauls materials while ensuring general cleanup of city properties, supporting a clean and well-maintained environment.

Team Collaboration & Service Excellence:

Collaborative Work Ethic :

Works cohesively with team members to achieve department objectives, ensuring high-quality service to the community.

Equipment Maintenance & Reporting :

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalency and prior equipment operation and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid NC Class C Driver's License Special Requirements:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B CDL) or obtain within twelve months. We will assist you with obtaining this if needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work in this class is described as medium and frequently requires physical exertion to complete tasks and move objects. This employee must have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned. Work typically involves the ability to physically perform the basic operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. The worker is required to have the visual acuity to be the operator of trucks, forklifts, backhoes, and other equipment. Employee is subject to hazards, including mechanical equipment, electrical current, noise and vibration and atmospheric conditions due to exposure to fumes and dusts.
